COURT ROOM PROCEDURES

 

Ø       Reorganized Traffic/Criminal and Civil Dockets, which creates a more efficient use of time for Prosecutors, Defense Attorneys and Police Officers.

Ø       Constitutional rights forms are provided in several languages.

Ø       Court created a “Traffic Intervention Procedure” that educates defendants as to how to reinstate a valid license status.

Ø       Court created specialized docket for Housing Code Violations. This is a strict progress plan to ensure compliance.

Ø       Revision of Local Rules of Court effective January 1, 2010.

 

VIDEO ARRAIGNMENT WITH LOCAL JAILS

       

Ø       Court established video arraignment with Mayfield Heights, Gates Mills, Mayfield Village, Richmond Heights and Highland Heights jails to facilitate proceedings in a safe and secure manner.

 

COMPUTER TECHNOLOGY

 

Ø       Lyndhurst Municipal Court has updated its computer system with state-of-the-art equipment.

Ø       Court has direct computer link with BMV to help facilitate the Court’s “Traffic Intervention Procedure”.

Ø       Use of laptop computer in the courtroom which documents and records sentences simultaneous to Judge’s adjudication.

PROBATION DEPARTMENT

 

Ø       First Offender Program entitled Selective Intervention Program for impulsive theft cases.

Ø       Established random drug testing with local medical facility.

Ø       Created Food Program which distributes to local needy families and shelters through Civic Organizations and local Churches.  Defendants are given an opportunity to create a food box in lieu of community service hours.
