Lisa Obert
was appointed as a magistrate in the criminal/traffic division of the Lyndhurst
Municipal Court by the Honorable Judge Mary Kaye Bozza
in 2004.Her responsibilities at the
court include presiding over various traffic and misdemeanor criminal cases as
well as monitoring and adjudicating cases in the court’s traffic intervention
program where she places an emphasis on educating the participants.
Magistrate Obert graduated from MiamiUniversity in Oxford, Ohio with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1984, and earned a
Juris Doctorate from ClevelandStateUniversity’s Cleveland-Marshall College of Law in 1987.
After being admitted to the
Ohio Bar in 1987, Magistrate Obert began her legal
career in private practice where she currently holds a position as a partner in
a small firm.
Magistrate Obert is a member of the Ohio State Bar Association and
Delta Theta Phi Law Fraternity International where she served as a past Dean of
the Cleveland Alumni Senate.Additionally, she is involved with several local civic
organizations.
