Mr.
Resnick was appointed as the Chief Civil Magistrate
of the Lyndhurst Municipal Court by the Honorable
Judge Mary Kaye Bozza in January, 2000. In that capacity, Mr. Resnick
presides on all civil Matters before the Court including monetary disputes not exceeding
Fifteen Thousand Dollars, Evictions, the Small Claims Docket and other matters
provided by law. Mr. Resnick presides over civil trials. He works
diligently with litigants to achieve fair and meaningful resolutions through
mediation.
Mr.
Resnick obtained his Bachelor
of Arts degree at The Ohio State University,
and earned his Juris Doctorate at the John Marshall School of Law at The Cleveland State University. In addition to his
Magistrate duties at The Lyndhurst Municipal Court,
Mr. Resnick also serves as a Magistrate at the Court of
Common Pleas, Probate Division, Cuyahoga
County, Ohio, a position he has held
since 1980. Mr. Resnick is a frequent lecturer at such institutions as
The Cleveland Clinic and The Ohio Hospital
Association. Mr. Resnick is a member of the American
Bar Association, the Ohio State Bar Association
and the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association, and has been a member of the
American Trial Lawyers Association, the Federal Bar
Association and the Cuyahoga County Criminal Lawyers Association.
Mr. Resnick previously served as an Ohio
Assistant General in the Criminal Activities
Division, and was appointed Special Counsel to the Ohio
Attorney General (1980-90).
In
addition to his public service, Mr. Resnick is in private practice as the
principal of Elliott I. Resnick & Co., L.P.A. with an office in Beachwood,
Ohio. Mr. Resnick is a
proud resident of Lyndhurst,
Ohio for more than twenty
years, where his two children graduated from CharlesF.BrushHigh School.
