Your Rights and Choices When You Receive a Ticket
The rights of persons ticketed are set forth in Ohio Revised Code 4511.098. If you receive a traffic camera ticket, you have the following options:
Pay the fine.
Upon payment in full the matter is concluded. No points will be added to your license and the violation is not a conviction on your driving record. The fine can be paid in one of three ways:
- Pay online: Visit www.viewcitation.com
- Pay by mail: Checks and money orders made payable to the "Mayfield Village, OH" can be mailed with the remittance slip from the ticket. Do not mail this payment to the Lyndhurst Municipal Court.
- Pay by phone: Call 1-888-884-9177. Phone payments can be made Monday through Thursday (8:00 AM – 8:00 PM) and Friday (8:00 AM – 6:00PM) EST. Discover and MasterCard are accepted.
File an Affidavit of Defense:
If you have a valid defense, file a notarized Affidavit of Defense (located on the back of the Official Traffic Citation) within 30 days of the receipt of the traffic camera ticket. The Affidavit of Defense must be filed in the manner provided on the back of your traffic camera ticket.

- Do not mail this form to the Lyndhurst Municipal Court.
- A properly filed Affidavit of Defense (i.e., completely filled out and notarized) will result in the dismissal of the ticket against you.
- There is no filing fee.
Request a Hearing
You may contest the traffic camera ticket by filing a Request for Hearing with the Clerk of Court within 30 days after the date of issuance of the ticket. A Request for Hearing can be filed:
- online, by clicking here.
- by US Mail,
- by faxing to 440-442-2635, or
- in person at the Clerk’s Window during normal business hours.
A filing fee, as stated in the Court’s cost schedule, will be assessed to the case and charged to the non-prevailing party.
Traffic camera violations are governed by Ohio Revised Code Sections 4511.092 through 4511.099.
