The Lyndhurst Municipal Court has jurisdiction over all misdemeanor criminal cases originating in Gates Mills, Highland Heights, Lyndhurst, Mayfield Heights, Mayfield Village and Richmond Heights.

Misdemeanor Cases

The Lyndhurst Municipal Court hears criminal cases in which the defendant is charged with misdemeanor charges. To access your case and verify when you are scheduled to appear in court, click here.

Felony Cases

The Lyndhurst Municipal Court has a limited role in felony prosecutions. Some felony cases are initially handled in this Court until a preliminary hearing (probable cause hearing) is held. If probable cause is found, the case will be sent to the Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court for final disposition.

Bond Information

  • Cash payments: Bonds can be posted in person at the Lyndhurst Municipal Court during regular business hours, Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Cash is the only acceptable method of payment at the Court.
  • Credit Card Payments: Bonds can be posted with credit cards at the arresting police department.
  • To obtain bond information, you can look up your case or contact the Clerk of Court’s office at (440) 461-6500, extension 0.
  • Failure to appear at all required appearances may result in forfeiture of bond in accordance with Ohio Revised Code § 2937.35.

Waiverable Offenses

Your online payment is due before the court date written on the bottom of your citation. If a person does not waive the violation according to the instructions, they must appear in court as scheduled or a warrant may be issued for their arrest.

Not Guilty Plea

To enter a plea of Not Guilty and have your case scheduled for a pretrial, you must either:

  • Appear in court for your arraignment and enter a not guilty plea; or
  • File a not guilty plea in writing prior to your arraignment date. If you file a Not Guilty Plea, you do not need to appear for your arraignment. The court will notify you by mail of your next court date. Download a Not Guilty Plea form here. The Not Guilty Plea form must be filled out completely for the Court to accept it.

Failure to Appear

Failure to appear in court as required will result in the issuance of a warrant for your arrest and a forfeiture of any bond.
